a moment of bliss

Salty lips.

My hair tousled by the wind.

Waves whip over the wet sand.

Corals stones rock lazily in the sea foam.

Dragonflies float in the shimmering afternoon heat.

Finally a cool breeze reaches me.

One second, two seconds.

Gone.

Sweat drips from my forehead.

My gaze wanders over the water, far out to the horizon.

An eagle draws circles in the air.

Had it spotted a fishswarm?

It flies on, facing the sun.

Free as the wind beneath its wings.

I, too, taste a piece of that freedom, as my gaze follows its elegant gliding.

Deciding when, where, with whom, for how long - that's my freedom.

And for that I am infinitely grateful.
